[SOLVED] Facebook connect was created by victoriakim
Hello,

To get a Login with facebook, I followed the instruction at www.joomlapolis.com/forum/6-news-and-pub...cb-connect-7x#263227 , step by step.
But when I click the "Sign in with facebook" button at the CB login module, I get the following message 'Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.'
The site URL I provided is a woking URL.
I have CB Connect 7.0.0-beta.4 and just installed the CB latest nightly version.

Thanks.

Well, I solved this problem by changing the site URL from www.mysite/ to http://mysite/.

That's a common problem when configuring the social site applications. They are domain strict. This includes www. So if it's configured with www, but you access your site without www then Facebook will reject the request as that's a domain mismatch. The best workaround is to figure out if you want your site with or without www then implement a URL rewrite or redirect in htaccess to ensure they are on the correct domain.

How does one actually DO that? I'm having the same issue. My joomla page, with community builder, is hosted in a subfolder of my root, but has its own domain which points there. What part of/ how do I need to edit the htaccess so that the facebook sigh up will work correctly?

Contact your host as their hosting panel usually has a feature to setup domain level redirects or provides a tutorial to specifically do this. There's also several solutions around the web. For example stackoverflow has entire threads on it below.
