I have a problem when updating Name in CB 2.0.10/J! 3.4.3

In Configuration, I have set Name Style to Single Name Field.
That is also the way I want names displayed in User Lists.
But I want User Lists sorted on Last Name.

Problem:
When editing and saving user´s lastname in the profile, the field Lastname is not updated accordinglu. The old lastname is kept in Lastname field which obviously makes name sort in wrong order.

I cannot remember I had this problem in CB 1.9.1?

Changing the name style does not cause names to parse into the new selected style. It would be too heavy of an operation to do on config save. Running CB > Tools > Synchronize users maybe able to fix this for you.

Maybe I explained my problem unclear.
I dont know if I understand your answer...

If a user Changes his Name from "John Doe" to "John Ross",
the field Lastname stays "Doe" and does not change to "Ross".
And in my example, he is still sorted under "D" in User Lists.

I have run all tests, none of them helped.

This means, when CB is configured to use Name Style as Single Name field, and a user changes their name, the CB field 'name' is updated, but not the field 'lastname' (same with 'firstname' and 'middlename')

Using Single Name is very convenient to use to make the whole name show on ONE line in User Lists.
However, sorting on Lastname in User Lists is also good practice.

If you've name style set to Single Name then CB will not update the other name fields as they're not used. It only updates the fields according to your configuration and what's sent in the POST data.

CB takes first, middle, and last then compresses it to name and stores it into Joomla. If name style is set to name then CB doesn't use first, middle, or last at all.

So in your case those 3 fields aren't updated at all. I've added a feature ticket for single name usage to update them as needed for a future release as it will cause problems going from single name style to first and last for example, which can be avoided by just always keeping them appropriately up to date.
