Hello Krileon,
As I made many test and changes, I restarted from scratch joomla install as well CB , CB actions ...etc..
understanding your explanations ( I think ), I had the idea for trouble shooting to change the action itself and get out of PHP considerations.

I have now configured the following :

Action type : Email
User , switched from automatic to User
Trigger : onafterloginsuccess
in the action tab ( so email ) :

Subject : TEST Login
body :

this is the email : [email]

This is the username [username]

result :
email is well triggered no issues
no values are replaced

for my understanding, it should right ?
thx

I've tested onAfterUserLoginSuccess and it indeed is an empty object. Looks like a caching bug in CB it self. Have added a bug ticket to CB to further investigate and fix. Looks like MyUser cache needs to reset after login to prevent this issue.

For now you should use onAfterLogin with User set to Automatic since it contains the proper user object already.
