[#7576] CB Connect - Twitter Login configuration fail

4 years 11 months ago - 4 years 11 months ago #312650 by drhustle
Greetings,

I have been able to update all of the login options using CB Connect on my website and all of them allow for successful login except for twitter. It appears that the configuration criteria have changes since the development of the step by step details in the link you provided.

I tried several times to update the existing app and even created a new app and tried from scratch.

I get the following error message
"Client error response api.twitter.com/oauth/request_token [status code] 403 [reason phrase] Forbidden"

Also when I input the call back URL from the CB Connect parameters - www.artistvip.com/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbconnect/endpoint.php?provider=twitter

The twitter app gives me the follow error
"Query parameters are not allowed"

I am a bit stuck now and was wondering if there was any direction that can be offered to get the twitter login to work again.

The website is
artistvip.com

If you need any additional info to assist me with this please let me know

Any assistance it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I've updated the instructions below.

www.joomlapolis.com/forum/6-news-and-publicity/229505-configuring-cb-connect-7-x#263259

Will review the Twitter integration as initial quick test looks like some API has changed and CB Connect will need some fixes to be compatible with the changes Twitter has made to their API.

Ok, it's just due to a change in the Callback URL. Remove "?provider=twitter" from the Callback URL and also supply your domain name. So for example you should have 2 callback URLs as shown below.

YOUR_DOMAIN/
YOUR_DOMAIN/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbconnect/endpoint.php

I've updated the tutorial to note this and will be fixing the parameter in CB Connect to remove "?provider=twitter" since it's not necessary or allowed by Twitter now.
