Registered User Issues with Community Builder

3 years 1 month ago #323731 by silbano
I am using Community Builder on my Joomla website, and now having Registered User issues with another program called "Easy Jobs Manager" (EJM) by JoomBoost.com. When people sign up and register for "Easy Jobs Manager" their user information is added into my Community Builder Users group. It appears as if Community Builder has taken total control over my "Registered Users" group in Joomla 3.9.25. I created an EJM group, but the EJM Users are added with my CB Users in the Joomla CMS Users section. All CB Users and EJM Users are placed together into my Joomla CMS Users section. Is there a way to keep my CB Users separate from my EJM Users in the Joomla Users section? Presently all of my EJM Users are given a CB User profile and I do not want that. Please advise. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Silbano

Both are using Joomlas core user table. No, it's not possible to separate them as they're both using the same core user table.

Thanks Krileon,

Your answer is sad to hear since. I have thousands of Users in Community Builder, and I will generate hundreds more with "Easy Jobs Manager" (EJM). I don't want to mix my Users. Every time a EJM User signs up in my EJM program they are also added to my CB program. This is not good for me or any of my users.

Based on your answer, it sounds like my only other option is to create a new website and add a link to it from my main website. Surely their must be a way around this.

Best regards,

Silbano

If you just don't want those users to have a profile you can try using CB Auto Actions to redirect away from the profile view when the user is from EJM. You'd need something stored in CBs database table to determine what type of user they are though so you have something to condition off of. This could even just be a Joomla usergroup added by EJM during sign up. Once you have something unique between the two let me know what it is and I can provide you an auto action example.
