[SOLVED] SQL error after plugin install cb confirm email

13 years 2 months ago - 13 years 2 months ago #152527 by kuddel
Hello,
after installing the 'CB' confirm email 'plugin I got the following error message:

SQL error on field store2: moscomprofilerFields::store failed: CBSQLupgrader::changeColumn (ADD) of Table #__comprofiler Column confirmemail failed with SQL error: Row size too large. The maximum row size for the used table type, not counting BLOBs, is 65535. You have to change some columns to TEXT or BLOBs SQL=ALTER TABLE `jos_comprofiler`\\n ADD `confirmemail` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL Row size too large. The maximum row size for the used table type, not counting BLOBs, is 65535. You have to change some columns to TEXT or BLOBs SQL=ALTER TABLE `jos_comprofiler`\\n ADD `confirmemail` varchar(255) DEFAULT NULL

After uninstalling the plugin, the 'Tab details' is not adjustable. The creation of new tabs does not work anymore. Can you help me.
(I'm from Germany, so I apologize for my english: is not very good)

I think this error is caused by a MySQL limitation. There are too many columns already in your database, this is usually caused by too many fields. Check out field management in CB if there are any unused or obsolete fields you could delete and try again.
Or just try to create a new field, which shouldn't work.

edit: there are also several threads suggesting workarounds

CB fields, as this concerns the _comprofiler database table.
Two drop down fields shouldn't be a problem.

Please give details of your Joomla, CB and server versions as well as other plugins you have installed.

Too many fields in a MySQL table. CB 2.0 will do a better job of managing this limitation.
In the meantime I believe Beat has posted some workaround you can apply to your existing CB fields to help this issue.

See heyai's reply (BTW - thanks again!) with direct forum links to similar issues/discussions (he did the search for you).

Thank you. I deleted some of the fields and everything works.
