Is it true that if you set a folders permissions to 777 that you are leaving your site open to infiltration by some hacker. Is it a open invitation. I am a noob but my brother that is a web master for many sites says he wont set them to that due to the chance to hacking. I currently have my 1st J style site on his server but he wont set anything to 777 because of a fear to getting hacked. IF YOU KNOW ANY FACTS ON THIS, please shed some light on this.
