ok this is probably a REAL noob question and it probably dont go here but i am going to ask anyways....

I am trying to edit the CB languauge file to change the words in the tabs....

Pretty sure i know what i am doing there but for some dumb reason i do not have permission to access the files in FTP???!?!?

I am logged in with my master admin FTP account, I can do anything i want in any directory or file until i hit the "components" directory. I can add and change files there, just nothing below it. I cant CHMOD it..... nothing... Its there some kind of creator lock???

This is a problem with some files on a joomla installation. These files become owned by nobody and are then not accessable with normal programs. They can be accessed and permissions changed with a program called JoomlaExplorer located at developer.joomla.org/sf/projects/joomlaxplorer

Joomla! 1.0.7 Stable

To add to what Rick was saying, if you have shell access you could CHOWN it to the proper user, as well.

If you're not comfortable on the command line, though, Rick's suggestion would be best!
