[SOLVED] Specified key was too long was created by ASconbs
I have downloaded the pkg_communitybuilder_2.6.4 build.2021.12.15.15.17.31.154cf3865.zip and tried to install.
Unfortunately I got this error:42000, 1071, Specified key was too long; max key length is 767 bytes
I run Joomla Joomla 4.0.5php 8.0.4Mysql 5.6.47-logI was advised to try to change the sql collation to utf8mb4_general_ci
I tried this, but this just caused "Specified key was too long" error in the mysql, but now for the Akeeba installation. I tried to ignore that error and save the utf8mb4_general_ci config, but still couldn't install the CB pkg file.
What to do ?

That's typically due to Innodb not being configured correctly. The default max key length should be 3072 not 767. Suggest contacting your host and ensuring they've setup Innodb correctly.
Is there any further information with there? Like what key it's trying to create? If not enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then retry and see if provides the full query that's failing in the error.

Hi again
I asked them about the max key length. They then adviced me to choose a new database at their hosting.
Now I have moved my webpage to the new database, and I was then able to perform the installation of the ComunityBullder pkg.
This issue is now solved for me.
