Question regarding invoice + offline payment

10 years 11 months ago #226912 by Vorak
Hello,

I just recently got a new license today and installed the latest CBSubs software on my Joomla site (for the moment, only in a sandbox version, not yet on my live site). My current Joomla version is 1.5 but the intention is to upgrade that to 2.5 in the near future.

Now as for my questions:

1. Invoice

I notice that (just like with the older version) it is possible to have the invoice address pre-filled out by referring to CB fields. My question, however, is: can it also go the other way? People who have not filled out their address in their CB fields, but do fill it out on their CBSubs invoice, can the address filled out on the invoice be automatically inserted in the CB fields?

2. Offline payment

Is it possible that, when someone chooses to upgrade and clicks the "offline payment" option (because they are going to pay manually by bank, for example), an email notification is sent to a specified e-mail address?
That way, we know to expect a payment on the bank account and can keep an eye on it.
When I purchased an earlier CBSubs version some years ago, I asked about this too and then received the answer that a later version would include this feature. However, I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I have also gone through the CBSubs manual but there I can't find any answer to these questions either. Unless I somehow overlooked it after all.

Thanks!

Ok I have a third question/problem:

I have my payment plan set so that when someone subscribes, they are automatically moved to another user group. This is set here:

Under tab "access":

Subscribers User access level settings
User Group:

The problem is that when I subscribe a test account, it keeps the usergroup as "Registered" rather than the one I chose. So it seems as if this setting is completely ignored. How can this be fixed?

EDIT: This user access level issue is resolved. The account I was testing with is registered with the same e-mail address as another account, which apparently caused the problem. Changing the e-mail address resolved this issue.

So I guess it's just my question 1 and 2 still then :)

There's no such feature for this, no. There's also no trigger that I am aware of that fires after updating the invoice address specifically so CB Auto Actions couldn't help either. The values however are stored to hidden CB fields in the _comprofiler database so you maybe, using CB Auto Actions, pull the values from there and pass to other CB fields.

Yup, on the Presentation tab of your plans use the Pending email and should fit your needs. You can also try the Pending email within CBSubs Emails if you want to specify a custom To address so it doesn't send to the user (Presentation emails always send to the user, you CC/BCC your self them).

Hello,

Thanks for your reply!

As for question 1 - I figured as much, but that's not so very vital so I'm just going to leave this as it is :-)

As for question 2:
The Pending email feature could be a solution, but then it means that everyone subscribing to a plan (regardless of the payment option they choose) will receive that e-mail. As there are also many who pay with Paypal, this might get confusing for them as they will get an email saying that their payment is pending and right after that their payment is completed - some people may just end up getting confused and think that their Paypal payment was somehow not processed.

I'm not sure as to what you mean with the second option though. Which feature do you mean exactly? Is it the "Mailer" icon I should go to for that? I looked at it but didn't find any specific "pending" email settings, nor a "to" field. Only this:

From email addresses:
CC email to addresses:
BCC email to addresses:

That's only if you use the emails on the Presentation tab. CBSubs Emails can send pending emails too except you can specify whatever To address you want (your email address for example).

Ohh now I understand what you mean... Not the "mailing" but the CBSubs Emails which I can find in the "integration" tab. Yes, that should do the trick I think. If that email is not immediately followed by an incoming payment through Paypal, we'll know it's likely going to be an offline payment. Thanks for the help! :)
