Having added quite a number of new fields the the CB users profile DB and using it for a Club membership, we'd like the facility to suspend a member, but not delete them from the DB.

Quite often members forget to pay or drop out and come back a year later. We don't want the extra work of removing them and then re-entering their dtails again. Is there a quick way of suspending users?

Try editing their details in the Community Builder User Manager, and, under the Contact Info tab, setting Block User to Yes.
When they try to login they'll get an error message explaining that thier login has been blocked.

(PS, if they're logged in, you might want to log them out first, otherwise they'll still have access to your site).
