Special user access to components was created by jasonrhl
I want to be able to have invitation only sections on the site. How do I create different member profiles other than the current registered, author, Editor, Publisher ??

I would like to be able to have different levels

examples.

registered user gets forum and gallery
special level 1 gets forum, gallery and blog
special user 2 gets forum, gallery, blog and download access.

Thanks for replies.

All of these are core Joomla ACL oriented features.
These inquiries are best posted over at the joomla.org site.

I was hoping here would be more helpful and that community builder could handle this function as well.

Thanks for the reply

You could use something like JACL that basically extends the Joomla ACL functionality but whatever solution you work out this way would be difficult to maintain.

phpnuke has the user groups functionality that is easy to use.

I have had a play with JACL and its quite difficult to work out how to create the group and make it interact with a component. I ended up just making a weblink to the component with the permissions I made to hide it.

I will persue this function for joomla on the joomla forums but I feel that cb would be a lot more interesting with this as well.

I wish I could understand programming I could go nuts on ideas.

All of this is core CMS functionality and should be included in the core code. All other solutions will eventually run into problems.
CB will take advantage of whatever core functionality is added when its added.
