I understand that one CANNOT allow front end registration but if that is disallowed, can one use clones of the regular login module such as the Yootheme login module.

I am researching the same question. I am not using Yootheme login (nice module BTW), but rather a template that has the login position and graphics "hardcoded" into the template. My initial thought is that I would allow users to login using the joomla core login module (with registration link disabled). To allow registration, I would have a separate link on the site to the CB registration page (.../index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=registers).

Will this work? If not, can the core joomla login module be modified to work with CB? Is there a way to modify the look of the CB login module?
