I attempted an upgrade from 1.0.1 to 1.o.2. When I attempted to uninstall 1.0.1 in step 3

3) Install comprofiler.zip as a component.
NOTE: You will have to uninstall the previous Community Builder version first.

I got a failed in the joomla admin area Joomla 1.0.11. Community builder was gone from the component installer and from the component list in the menu. I attempted to upload comprofiler.zip and got the message

Upload component - Failed
Another component is already using directory: "/home/diabetic/public_html/members/components/com_comprofiler/"

How do I fix this? I was only upgrading to try to fix a minor issue where com-profiler was not uploading pictures to the profiles.

I had a similar problem where the permissions for the CB directories had been changed. For uninstall to work correctly the directories must be visible to the web server (apache). If the uninstall cannot remove them correctly you must either change permissions an run uninstall again or remove manually.
