unique registration field

unique registration field was created by alex_funky_dj
Hello,

How I can add a new registration field and make it UNIQUE, I need people to register with their Mobile numbers and make it Unique not to repeated !!

I can do it through MySQL but the problem is how to configure the error message if it duplicated !!

You can do this easily in the validations plugin, published elsewhere on this site (search forum).

Sorry, wrong keyword: the plugin (to be slightly modified) is called protectField.

That plugin is a great help, but here's what would be better as a built-in feature of CB:

-unlimited fields to be locked
-remove the possibility in the CB profile of a user even trying to change the fields. No text box at all, just an icon indicating it can't be changed except by admins.
