Display of checkboxes at the Frontend

Display of checkboxes at the Frontend was created by Timpi
Dear all,
I created some Userfields including a checkbox area of 16 boxes.
Updating the checkbxes each of these checkboxes is displayed in right order
Looking at it at the frontend there is only text visible instead of checkboxes. Cheboxes are not displayed like checkboxes...?!
Why and how can I change that... It is not really looking very nice!

but you are not right...
It is the same with CB homepage template.
Have a look to the checkboxes for spoken languages...
I selected 3 at all but the selected checkboxes are displayed as a text line at the frontend only...
I am sure that it is not my template (standard rhuk_solarflare_ii) but something inside the files for the output data (Userlist?, comprofiler?)
may be you can give me any other idea?

Sorry - I was too quick in answering .. and of course I was wrong.
When multiple values are selected they are stored in the database as value1;value3;value8 string and this is the way they are currently rendered.
I believe that someone has posted a feature request on the forge (there are tons of them). Don't think I have seen any code suggestions from anyone yet.
