When sending another user a mail, CB sets a \ [backslash] in front of each " [quotation mark]. Any idea on how to solve this problem? Perhaps PHP-function stripslashes() could help, but I do not know where to insert it.

This issue is being investigated by Joomla. A large number of reports have come through with users experiencing the same problem. Including myself. You can follow the issue here.
