Is there a way to use or make CB (or Joomla) search facility to search more than the name field?

It would be very useful for my visitors to search by suburb or a 'keyword' interest to find a member near to them.

Would it be possible to code CB so that it is possible to include a search by name (already the default) all fields, or even nominate certain fields in a list?

Would it be possible in the List Management section to include 'Search in a similar manner to the filter box or possibly even on the 'results' columns themselves.

(Joomla search only seems to search articles and static content)
