alphabetizing the user list in admin area

alphabetizing the user list in admin area was created by rragle
I have tried to find a way to sort the user list in CB Administration area by last name alphabetically. It would actually be especially ideal if a user list could be customized in the admin area the way it can in the public area (for maintenance purposes). has anyone else figured out a way to do this?

Which version CB? If 1.1, please upgrade to 1.2 Stable to take advantage of bugfixes and features now available. I know there's a solution for 1.2 too.
