url syntax problem

url syntax problem was created by twilhelm
On my site, I am having a problem with the comprofiler module. In my case, if I attempt to update a user's profile (for example, the image), I get sent to the following URL:

hackerdemia.com/index.php?http://hackerdemia_com/option=com_comprofiler&task=userProfile&Itemid=33

I isolated the problem within the URL to the following additional data that does not belong within the string:

http://hackerdemia_com/

I do not know where that is occurring within the php scripts, or if there is a misconfiguration error on my part. If anyone knows why the additional data is getting shoved into the URL, I'd love to hear about it. The intended action works - it's just the user is not redirected to the original page like they are supposed to. Looks terrible, but doesn't impact performance. If I cannot resolve it, I will need to uninstall it.

Figured out the problem, sort of - there were some directories with incorrect permissions. I resolved them and everything works now. Seems strange that additional info would be added to the url simply because of permissions, but all is good now.
