Search Engine Friendly Not Working In CB 1.2

Is there a work around for this issue? I have searched the forums for "Search Engine Friendly", "SEF", "Search Engine Friendly CB 1.2", and "SEF CB 1.2".

The only answer I have seen that comes close to an answer is from NANT. "If you have J 1.5 installed there are issues that are addressed with CB 1.2 (currently in testing)." www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,/func,view/catid,42/id,59546/#59546

I have looked through the CB_1.2RC_STABLE.pdf and it does not address this issue.

I also have looked at the "Identified Issues" category and the issue has not been addressed.

Would someone give me a heads-up to the status of the issue?

Thanks

It works just fine on my sites.

Could you please provide more details regarding the not working part?

I have set the Joomla SEF setting to Yes and the htaccess part also.

Nick thanks for the response.

I have purposely left out content on a demo site I have created to test CB.
The only modules enabled are CB Login main menu. I am running Joomla 1.5.3 and CB 1.2.

The specific issues are for the links "Lost Username/Password" and "Register" in the CB Login module.

When I turn ON SEF in Global Configuration, they both 404.

URLs:

Lost Username/Password
www.napacomputerguy.com/demo/component/comprofiler/lostpassword.html

Register
www.napacomputerguy.com/demo/component/comprofiler/registers.html

When I turn OFF SEF in Global Configuration, they both work correctly.

URLs:

Lost Username/Password
www.napacomputerguy.com/demo/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=lostPassword

Register
www.napacomputerguy.com/demo/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=registers

I have changed the htaccess file name.

I would be happy to PM you the Admin password if you would like.

Thanks.

Martin

Could I get some type of response? Please acknowledge this post. I paid for the Documentation Subscription Service expecting CB 1.2 would be in better shape then it is.

The links don't look to be new CB 1.2 RC menu links with Joomla 1.5 SEF !

As stated in the README file, for joomla 1.5, you need to delete all previous CB menus (all) and redo new menu items.

Try re-deleting them all, and recreating them following the README steps.

As with each CB, you need to have a public profile menu item. Do you have one ?

All our tests are done in subdirectories, so we can't reproduce your problem (except for the case mentioned in README above).

*If* the above still doesn't work, yes please, PM me that and also ftp access which allows to edit the CB php files, so we can troubleshoot efficiently, thanks.

"As stated in the README file, for joomla 1.5, you need to delete all previous CB menus (all) and redo new menu items."

I did not have any "previous CB menus" since it was a clean install.

Since the last post "By: beat" I have completed or attempted the following steps outlined in README.txt:

1. Clean Install of Joomla 1.5.3

2. Complete Steps 1-6

3. Completed Step 7 for 1.5.3
Components->Community Builder->Tools

4. Attempted Step 8
This Does not Apply to Joomla 1.5.3

"8) Disable the Standard Joomla/Mambo Login Module. To do that, go to the
administration backend (go to modules->site modules then click
on the green publish checkmark of "Login form" (mod_login) so that
it becomes a red cross)."

Using the same thought process, users should do the following. However, mod_login is grayed out.
Extensions->Install/Unistall->Modules(link)->mod_login (check box and unistall)

5. Attempted Step 9 - DIRECTIONS ARE UNCLEAR AND CONFUSSING !!

"9) Add a new user menu item for the comprofiler component (this will be the link to the user's profile page).
For this, go to menu -> user menu, click New, then:
- in Mambo/joomla 1.0 then select component, Community Builder (comprofiler), leaving access public for the item, give a name and save.
- in Joomla 1.5 then select Community Builder, then User Profile, leaving access public for the item, give a title and alias and save. ..."

5A. There is NO "menu" link in 1.5.3. Also "user menu" does not exist.
(By default, in Menus, Menu Manager and main menu exists.)

5B. "click New, then:" Click "New" ON WHAT PAGE?
Do I need to make a new menu and then add a new user menu item?
Do I need to add a new user menu item to the default main menu?

6.... I stopped here because Steps 10 and 11 are just as confusing for 1.5.3.

If this has caused my SEF issue, then it needs to be noted in documentation and directions given for the fix.

When I bought the documentation subscription, I was hoping there would be clarity for installation and trobleshooting issues.

I am frustrated and it seems I paid for the documentaion that has not saved me "valuable time" and has not helped me build a "community web site better and faster".

Since CB 1.2 is native for Joomla 1.5, consider separating the documentation for the two versions of Joomla.

beat, I have PM you the appropriate login information.

Please do not just change things and say "It's ALL Fixed". There needs to be some clarification for current and future subscribers.
