is it possible to force registrants to use usernames without spaces?

Not in CB 1.2 RC2 without changing code. Something that we plan for 1.3...

ok, i imagine 1.3 is a while off and I really need to implement it into my current site before I launch next week. Being out of my depth in coding would I be better to employ a Joomlancer to hack or is the code to do this available?
