i've figured out a bit about the geocoder, thanks to another post in this forum.

the geocoder adds a tab to the cb profile. if i go into my profile and update it (don't have to make any changes, just click update) then geocoder does its thing - it takes my street address and translates it to latitude/longitude for the geocoder page.

THEN my marker shows up in my google map properly.

my problem is that i need to do this for all 200+ users in my cb database, which is obviously impossible, so i am searching for an automated way to force geocoder to act on the existing userbase.

Mmm.. i still can't get it to work. So far this is what I have done.
1.) Switch joomla to Legacy
2.) Install com_google_maps
3.) Install plug_geocoder at CB plugin managment
4.) Google map component, input my google map API-Key:
5.) Goto my profile and to save my address, county, zipcode. Latitude & Longitude is update at Geocode, but it does display google map at frontend, Grocode tab only show
Latitude: (number here)
Longitude: (number here)

Nothing work, which part did i miss out

i'm on joomla 1.0.15, but it probably doesn't matter. some settings still have to be tweaked.

I think i misunderstood this component, i hoping that each member profile can display his/her own google map within profile tab. So far i manage to get some members to display in a single google map with their marker.

Im having a problem using the URL links:

On main menu add a menu "Link - URL" item: index.php?option=com_google_maps_insight
On user menu add a menu "Link - URL" item: index.php?option=com_google_maps_insight&task=new

When you click them they open full page, not into the main body of the site.

If I make the menu item an iFrame the map works as expected but the new marker link works OK until you click submit or cancel, then you get the website IN the iFrame.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: N/M autotype put index2.php instead LOL.
