Go to Administrator/Module Manager and make sure there is a red X indicating the Login (Joomla) module is disabled. Also, in Global Configuration, say no to "allow registration". Finally, in CB configuration, make sure you change Registration Tab to allow registration "yes, independently of global site setting."

It sounds as if you missed a step in the install readme. :) Hope this helps.

This is my first time using Joomla.

I am using:
Joomla 1.5.7
phpBB 3.0.2
Community Builder 1.1

I fresh installed everything between yesterday and today. Everything was operational and no problems.

I was trying to install Community Builder today, which after following the documentation installing it via Joomla no errors were displayed.

Though the guide had some differences in the references silly me was able to adjust between the different versions and followed the rest of the instructions.

However after enabling CB Log in and disabling Joomla's log in I can no longer access log in to the administration.

I keep getting this error:
[code:1]JAuthentication::__construct: Could not load authentication libraries.
Username and password do not match[/code:1]

So now i don't know what I did wrong or how to fix this. I can log in to the Forum's admin panel using the password I created there.

Any ideas what silly me should do? :D Thanks!

Going just on memory, which isn't good... I think it's because you're running native with an older extension that requires legacy. Just to make sure, check the FAQ link in my signature for the actual causes of not being able to log into admin.

I didn't find my answer in the documentation but I am did find it in this post.

Summary:

Author: blueyemen
Source: forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=432&t=230114
This may also help:

I use the version Joomla! 1.5.6

In my case changing the permission of the "Authentication - Joomla" table wasn't enough. I also had to change the permission of the "User - Joomla" to.

Booth "Authentication - Joomla" and "User-Joomla" must have the Published propertie set to 1.

I hope that could help someone.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply.

Like previously mentioned i use Joomla 1.5.7 but those steps also worked for me.
I was able to follow those steps and now log back in.

**Edit**
Also Legacy is turned on when I got that error.
