I would like to know how to integrate joomla mudules into the CB profile. Is this even possible?

You can convert any module into a plugin, but it just takes a lot of time to learn how.
Examine the plugin API documents and check out some sample plugins. Then give it a whirl. It's not too hard to accomplish.
I've even managed to convert joomla 1.5 only modules to work as CB plugins on joomla 1.0.
