I have used every version on joomla and every version of community builder, a fresh install with only Joomla 1.5.x and Community Builder 1.2 RC3 and i get everything going.. Create the Profile link in the user menu, the user can then proceed to view his own profile but as soon as he clicks edit profile this message appears

This functionality is currently disabled.

I can not find and place to enable this, is this possibly a problem with my install or my php setup?? I've tried everything

This has been driving me crazy as well. I've done this on several test sites with a fresh install of Joomla 1.58 with CB 1.2RC3, both with and without legacy mode enabled.

The "edit profile" functionality works fine on my site - joomla 1.57 running in 1.0 legacy mode & CB1.2RC3 .

In the CB Configuration Manager, do you have "Allow user to edit his CMS parameters in frontend" set to "yes"?
