I am building a communautary website and I would like to restrict the access to the registration form. I see two possibilities:

a. The members can invite there friends through e-mail and there there would be a unique link to the registration form, as Gmail did when they started (if I remember well).

b. A password is set into the registration form, and without this password no new registration can be submitted; the password would be communicated by e-mail by the members. The new registrant should enter the password and Name of the his "godfather"; after verification, the registration is accepted or not.

Do anybody have an idea how to implement one of these measures or a better idea?
