Is it possible to create a list that shows searchmode only the same way as the menu item does?

I have created a menu item that links to a special list with a graphic just for the search page. However, the special list shows in the drop down list as well and does not come up as searchmode only. It appears the only difference may be the itemid but I can't find a way to change the "URL for search link to this list" field.

Menu item link:
index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userslist&searchmode=1&listid=7&Itemid=997

List item link:
index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=usersList&listid=7&searchmode=1

Can someone tell me if there is a way to do this?
