Hi,

Is there a way to hide some of the fields of contact info tab?
I don't want my users to have ability to choose Text editors and help sites for example. I want them to be hidden.

How can I hide them?

No. That didn't help me...but Thanks deni_hanca. I don't want to disable viewing the whole tab (Contact info).

What I want here is the same thing like using Joomla! default editing of users profile. I can go to Global configuration/User settings/ and for Front-end-User parameters check 'hide'. After that the users can't choose other text editor, different language, help site preferences on their Details screen.

I was looking for this kind of setting in CB 1.2 RC4

...but no luck.

Is there a way to get rid of these preferences?

So far I can tell that my problem is in userparams under the name 'params', but I'm not sure.

Can anyone tell me how to accomplish the same thing with CB like I did with user settings under Joomla default user settings feature in Global Configuration that I mentioned above in green color text?

You can NOT unpublish certain fields. They are coded, rooted, hardened in their place as they're highly needed.

you can, however, unpublish a custom tab, made by yourself.

in my case, i made a myself tab (called it "unused items"), and set it to unpublish. then i move all the fields which i dont want display to users (including the ones that cannot be unpublished) to this unpublished tab.

the tab won't show, and neither will the fields within.

i havent really looked at the codes though, so i dont know how will this affect the database, particularly in certain configurations. could this be harmful? i dont know. but it worked for me so far:) .

I did what I wanted. But don't know will it have any side effects to the system. Certainly hope it won't.
