This is a wonderful Extended Profile from Chuck,
This is the result from the modifications done by Andy,Devil and Ysmith! No credit for me here! I am just trying to share the good hack to all CB lovers. Thankx Guys and to Joomaplazza.com, where it all started to spread again after chuck made it famous in joomla 1.x.

Enjoy!

Steps:

1. Make sure you set the Legacy on
2. Extract the files at /components/com_comprofiler/

3. Go to /com_comprofiler/xtd_views/xtdUserProfile.php
and look for <!-- Begin xtdUserProfile Template -->

4. you may try this sample, hope if this still workin!

<table class="xtdUserProfileWrapper">
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
Header here - Register, login links here
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<!-- Top row of links -->
<?php echo $userViewTabs["cb_head"]; ?>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<div style="float:right; width:125px;">
Rating<br/> <em>I never figured how to get the rating to work correctly</em>
</div>
<!-- Your Avatar -->
<img src="<?php echo $avatar_img; ?>" title="Your Avatar" alt="Your Avatar" align="left" />
<?php echo $user->username; ?>
<br/>
Name: <?php echo $user->firstname; ?>
Age: <?php echo $user->age; ?>
Gender: <?php echo $user->gender; ?>
<br/>
Town/City: <?php echo $user->city; ?>
Country: <?php echo $user->country; ?>
<br/>
Links here, such as: Send a Message, Donate Points , Add to Buddy List, Add to Block List
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<div style="float:right; width:125px;">
This is <?php echo $user->username; ?>'s Profile
</div>
Profile
<hr/>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<!-- Begin first column -->
<td class="leftColumn">
Load your information here. (Such as <?php echo $user->username; ?>)<br/>
It might be good to create a tab for each of these boxes.<br/>
Or you could run a SQL query to get each 'tab' in the user profile.
<br/>And do a <h3><?php echo $tab[AboutMe]->title; ?>. Then a foreach echo tab[key]: tab[value]
</td>
<!-- End first column -->

<!-- Begin second column -->
<td class="rightColumn">
</td>
<!-- End second column -->

Note this not yet fully tested, just give it a try and if you have improvements please share it here!!

Can you define "Extended" please. DO you mean it is intended for a wide page?

Tips for understanding and solving your issue - Props to Krileon for creating this.

Extended Profile, because you can customize the arrangement of the field data in your profile page. Thus gives you the chance to enhance its looks and layout. Try to visit www.joomlaplaza.com and check the profile page, if you want to make something like that download the attached file. I suggest you also read the threads by chucks extended profile for more info about this.

I think Joomlaplaza is right on the money with this enhancement. I'm definitely using it when I start building my site (Right now I'm on the planning stage). And hopefully by then the development of this will be enhanced even better.

I've been considering a few options to go with as far as which social networking system to use. I'm loving CB. Joomunity looks great but it's too restricted and doesn't allow for much customization.

But what's still holding me back from using CB as oposed to a commercial platform (or even developing my own) is the customization on the for the front-end because as you know, a site may have awesome features but if it's not appealing to the eye, people won't even bother with it (I personally don't unless I have a bigger purpose than just playing around on the web:).

But Joomlaplaza is giving me hope and a few less headaches.

Thanks before hand.

I've been using extended profile for a while now and i'm pleased to announce that the hack worked through Joomla 1.0 and 1.5 and CB 1.1 and 1.2RC3 and RC4 :)

Chuck, Thank you so much for your groundwork on this hack, any chance on modifying it to customise the registration form?
