I've spent over an hour now doing searches to find out if CB can send mass emails to user lists. There are a lot of posts asking the same thing and none have any answer!

Can you or can you not send out a mass email to users that have chosen to be apart of a custom group/party.

I'll buy the subscription to learn how to do it... Not asking how... Just can it be done?!?

Second, you'll likely get a faster response with a more applicable thread title. I just happen to take them in a certain order when I have the time.

Third, the answer to your question is a "no, but...".

You'll need an integrated subscription manager, but there are several to choose from that will integrate well with CB either with core plugins included in CB 1.2 or the 3PD plugins provided by the extension developer.

Joomla does have a mass mailer built in, but I don't believe it looks at groups or "parties" as you're suggesting. Check the Joomla Extensions directory link in my signature to find out which mail subscription extension integrates with CB and has the features you're looking for.

Please clarify what you mean by groups/parties.

I am looking for a solution that will:

A: Allow new users to select from a list of custom "groups" or "usergroups" or whatever you want to call it to be apart of when they register.

Ex. Drop down menu: Blue team, green team, red team.

B: I can send a mass email to all members of the green team.

I'm pretty sure Rapunzl understood what I was saying and I'll look into integrated subscription managers. But any further information about getting this solution to would would be greatly appricated by more than just myself.

Would subscribing to the "documentation" help me work out this solution?

From other posts on joomla.org I believe that this solution will be provided in J! 1.6.0 but since theres no release date...

Since the documentation about what CB can do is $30 its kinda hard to figure that out without going to the forums...

And since as you say no one responds to that question in the forums your kind of stuck as far as figuring out what is in relation to CB.
