I saw in comments that ...
// This file should be made in UTF-8 (without BOM) only.
// CB will automatically convert to site's local character set.
But when I install this plugin, all french accents gets weird (two characters display) as UTF-8 interpreted as ISO-8859.
Do I have to iconv the files first to IS-8859 before installing them ?
(I use Joomla 1.0.15 & CB 1.2)
BTW, some corrections on cbteamplugins_language.php :

next...
cbteamplugins_language.php has a BOM mark (\xEF\xBB\xBF) at the beginning.
Type :
[code:1]head -1 cbteamplugins_language.php | cut -b 1-5 [/code:1]
should display the first 5 letters "<?php"
If it displays " <?" , then there are probably a BOM byte at the beginning.
remove it with vi :
[code:1]vi cbteamplugins_language.php
:«»set nobomb
:wq
[/code:1]
