Electronic invoicing based on schedule?

14 years 11 months ago #96392 by revjb
Hi,

I need to know whether or not CBSubs is able to send eletronic invoices via email with link to pay for continuance of service (membership) at specific date increments (one month before due, etc). And if the due date is past how configurable is CBSubs to handle the events/exceptions?

Can it generate additional e-invoices/reminders or tack on additional fees past the original due date?

Thanks in advance,

Joon

Compliant invoicing is a subject by itself... :)

CBSubs 1.0 is more a membership pre-payment system than an invoicing machine. :)

It can generate invoices after payment completed.

CBSubs 1.0 is an "pre-payment" system in terms of invoicing terminology.

So customer invoices are generated upon payment completion, not before.

It is on our features-requests list to add "post-payment" functionality, allowing e.g. to send invoices or pro-forma invoices in advance of renewal, before payment. Late fees, reminders and emailing invoices is on our list too. But that feature is not in CBSubs 1.0, and probably not in next highest priority-features.

That said, users can get an email on expiration in CBSubs 1.0.

And probably some of those functions could be developed as integration plugins, although would see them better fitting in the core.

Thanks for your answer, Beat. Much appreciated.

So... what am I to do as an integrator? Wait? How much would it cost for your team to develop this? I am weighing between CB and Dioscouri's Ambra Subscriptions. I prefer CBSubs because of the tight integration with CB (as we're already using it), but I need to deploy this service to our members relatively soon with a billing system tied to it.

One thing Dioscouri has going for them is that they provide documentation for development. If I had to bite the bullet I can extend their component to include the automated billing service. But, my time is precious and is better spent elsewhere.

Thanks again.

The available e-mail integrations should suffice for the time being to do as you desire, but to sponsor a new feature implementation you would need to PM Beat directly.
