Recurring Paypal Payments - Again was created by gtrennert
Hello

J3.4.4
CB 2.0.11
CBSUB 4.0.1

I have a subscription plan named test with :
Regular Validity duration = 1 day (24hours)
Auto-recurring renewals = Yes : Subscribe userto automatic recurring payments

Last Monday I made a test :
a user subscribes and chooses recurring paypal payment
The payment succeeds - its a recurring payment
On backend, in cbsub - subscriptions, I can see the subscription and the Autorecurring type shows that recurring paymentwas working

Now I come back today, Wednesday :
I try to login and it says the subscription is expired :

Souscription test
Cette souscription est un test
Expiré 04/11/15

below there is a button : Réactiver: 40.00 € par Jour

I thought that the subscription will not expire until user says so.
Please can you explain me ?

What payment gateway are you using? PayPal for example can take up to a day for an IPN to show up and renew. For such a short duration you need to have a Grace Period setup to account for IPN delay.

Hello
I took so long because I setup a 1 month plan and waited for expiration

Here's my setup^:

The plan :
Regular Price of plan 10.00000
Regular Validity duration 10.00000
Total number of occurrences of regular validity/price (0=unlimitted) 0
Prorate remaining value of this plan when upgrading Yes
Renewable in advance by 1 week
Grace period before real expiration 3 days
Manual renewal extends expiration date as follows Renewal starts at expiration date or at payment date - whichever happens last (allows free gap)
Auto-recurring renewals (*): Yes: subscribe user to automatic recurring payments (*)

The subscription data :
Subscription date 08/11/2015
Last renewal date 08/11/2015
Expiration date 08/12/2015
Status Active
Change Logs 2
Autorenew Type Mandatory
Autorecurring Type Autorecurring with notifications
Recurrings used 1
Maximum recurrings unlimited

My question :

The expiration was 2 days ago - I hoped that the renew would have happened - So please could you please tell me what is exactly happening and when once expiration happened.
In my imagination (and I hope not only) there would be triggered the payment and update of subscription data.

If the plan didn't renew then IPNs are not configured properly. Your site should receive a notification under CBSubs > Notifications regarding the renewal. You should see the renewal within your PayPal account and you should see the notification within your IPN History of your PayPal account (also lets you debug the response and what URL it was sent to).

Please review your documentation carefully. We can not assist you with PayPal configuration as that would require PayPal login credentials for liability purposes we do not request such information.

If the plan didn't expire then it means expirations were not triggered. Within CBSubs > Settings > Global check how expirations are configured to trigger. Best approach is to run the CRON URL daily. Please note the plan won't expire until the Grace Period has also ended.

I followed your advice and its working fine - Thanks !

Just some related questions :

My test user has payed a second time by recurring Paypal - cron made it automatically
When the user goes to his profile and sees his subscription there's a link saying that he can see the invoices of the last 6 months :
But he has only one invoice ! Is it possible to make for each payment an invoice ?
And is there a parameter to make it for 12 months ?

Whats happening if the cron job does not work for some time ? I have 2 users who expired and I think that the cron job was begin to run some days after their expiration day. I suppose its the grace time that influences this ?

I'm not completely sure on this, but I'm pretty sure CBSubs does not generate a new invoice for renewals.

Yup, within CBSubs > Settings > Display > Invoices adjust "Show in user profile subscription tab invoices of last" as needed.

Likely your CRON isn't setup correctly if it's not working. The URL probably isn't executing as expected. That's something you'll need to discuss with your host though as we can't help with CRON setup as it depends on your host and their web panel.
