Hello CB Team,

Regarding the process for accepting or declining a connection request, currently the user can click on Accept or Decline which then makes the option change colour.
Unfortunately, this is not accessible as there is no indication to a screen reader that one of the options has been selected. As a totally blind person (yes, I have no useful sight) using a screen reader, I would have to press each option to ensure that I accepted or declined the correct users.

A possible solution and an improvement to the process, can the Accept and Decline buttons be made to work via Ajax so there is no need to click update at all. Our Beta Testers have raised this as a
issue stating that having the buttons instantly respond would be more efficient.

Thank you in advance.

There are no plans to do such a redesign in CB 2.x. In CB 3.x most UI elements will be entirely ajax based. They currently however are just radio inputs, which should be accessible. Maybe descriptive aria-labels would be enough for the time being? Something like "Accept connection request from X" and "Reject connection request from X" ?

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the super fast reply!

Ok, expecting a complete update to CB 2.x is unnecessary especially if CB 3.x will probably resolve the issue, do you have an estimate for CB 3.x release?

If it is imminent, then it can wait for the new release.

Cheers,

No. CB 3.x will be a progressive release. First release probably won't be much changes except internal API rewrites.

If it is imminent, then it can wait for the new release.

It's not so the best I can do for now is adding accessibility where possible. Things like aria labels are trivial to add so I could have those done today/tomorrow.

Kyle,

It's a really small issue to be honest, I'm just such a stickler for accessibility issues so please only do it when you get time rather than putting it to the top of your to do list.

More important things such as the ticket I'm about to raise now regarding the customisation of emails.

I'm absolutely all for improving accessibility just not in a way that requires a complete rewrite to do it, lol. So if you've suggestions for improved aria-labels, focusing, etc.. then please feel free to share your suggestions as those are quick and easy for us to implement.
