It will notify you only if you activate it.
Edit your profile and check out the profile book fields.
I'm thinking about building one that notifies users about anything that might elicit their attention. It would just be a mish-mash of similar notifications in the login module, PMS modules, Board modules, etc.
In the case of a site that I'm currently working on, I'm aiming to streamline the output of the login module, while having these notifications together, but elsewhere in the template.
