Captcha plugin issue when emailing users

I have the Captcha disabled for emailing users via my site. However when I try to send the email it will keep saying "Invalid Security Code" at the top but since it's disabled. It never gives the user an option to enter a security code. The only way around this is to enable captcha for sending emails and I do not want this.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it?

I am using Joomla 1.0.13 and CB 1.1
