I've installed Joomla and CB on a particular site (let's call it example.com), and a separate installation of each in example.com/arabic. I copied the English site over to the Arabic site using Akeeba Backup/Restore, and fixed up the database settings.
But when editing CB>Configuration>Registration on the Arabic site, it saves it to the English site instead. Editing it on the English site also saves it to the English site.
I found that the text I'm trying to edit is in administrator/components/com_comprofiler/ue_config.php. The Arabic site seems to be pointing to the same ue_config.php file as the English.
Any ideas on where I can set this?

Turns out I was overcomplicating things.
I didn't realise it saved the configuration by FTP; fixed the FTP root for the Arabic site (had been public_html, changed to public_html/arabic), and now all works well!
