I am assuming you are doing this because your php upload filesize parameter is set to 2M and you cannot install the component.

You need to manually unzip the component package and upload it somewhere on your server and select it from the extensions installer. It could be any folder really off the joomla root installation.

P.S. Will check the installation guide and manual to see if different joomla version specific information is needed.
