CBSUBS - Renew button issue was created by idaaa
Hello,

I've got a new problem with the renew button...

I've got several plans (all the same level), renewable in advance by 1 year.

When a user subscribes to "plan A" for 2011, he can choose to renew this plan for 2012.
BUT : when he goes to the "plan B" page, he can only subscribe for 2011.

It's impossible for him to get "plan B" for 2012 unless he waits for his current subscription to expire.

What I would like to to is : when a user has subscribed any of these plans (A or B...), he can choose to renew the one he wants for the next year before the expiration date.

Is there a way to do that ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

I don't understand.
Is this user subscribed to both plan-A and plan-B at the same time?

Hi !

No the user can't subscribe to both plans at the same time.

But if he wants to renew in advance for the next year (ex. 2012) he must be able to choose the plan that he wants (plan a OR plan b...).

Now he can just renew the plan he already chose for year 2011.

For example : in 2011, he subscribed for plan A. So the renew button is shown on the plan A page to renew for 2012. But if he prefers to chose the other plan (plan b) for 2012... he just can't because there is no renew button... (and he must wait expiration date to chose this option for 2012)

I don't know if you can understand me... My english is so bad ! Sorry...

thanks again for your help

Well you have to understand that RENEW means that he is has an active subscription first. So if user is subscribed to plan-A, then he can renew (even ahead of time if so configured) for plan-A.

Since user is not subscribed to plan-B then moving from plan-A to plan-B is considered an upgrade - not a renewal. Once upgrade is performed from plan-A to plan-B, then user (now subscribed to plan-B) can renew plan B for another year.

Yes I understand this.

I was just hoping it was possible to get things run differently

Obviously, it's not possible...
