I am using user groups where those signing up for free registration are registered and those paying for a subscription automatically switch to authors.
Is there a way to have a user with a subscription (an author) automatically change to registered upon subscription expiration or unsubscription?
I have User Groups assigned in each plan under Access - Subscribers User access level settings, and the free plan is the default (assigned as registered) which everyone gets if they don't have a plan (even upon expiration and unsubscription), but their group is not downgrading so I now have users that are free members without a subscription still listed as authors.

Unfortunately, this site is still Joomla 1.5. Grace period before real expiration is set to none.
