I am actually coding an alumni website using Joomla 2.5.8 and Community Builder 1.9

I have downoaded the J25 CB plugin search and published it.

The problem is that it does not respect privacy.

For example I created a field "company", if a user sets it as Coca-Cola and makes it invisible, the user can still be found through the Joomla! search module. But if I click on the result (so a user profile) the field correctly not displayed.

Did I miss some parameters to be configured ?

I tested by searching the field on a CB userlist and the user is not found : search on that specific field through CB userlist search respects privacy.

When you say "You need to set the privacy settings for the field to be hidden from search." what do you mean do you mean exactly ?

What I want is privacy to be respected in both search modes : 1) Joomla! general search module + J25 CB plugin search and 2) specific field search in CB userlist search.

I am sorry to reply so late. Just to say that I do not understand a world of what you are saying. What do you mean by "review the privacy settings then set "User search on this field:" as needed." ? What I want to do is to make the search plug-in respects privacy. Do you understand ?
