[SOLVED] Profile update doesn't save

My guess is you're trying to display something in profile edit that doesn't belong there causing a HTML form within an HTML form and breaking POST behavior. Unpublish your tabs, except Contact Info which usually has core fields like username, until issue goes away to see if it's a specific tab doing it. I'm not seeing any issues with this behavior in my tests (dev install, clean install, and demo site).

I've now tried a few things.
I've uninstalled the privacy plugin, emptied the tables for the plugin in the DB.
I've reinstalled the privacy plugin.
I've unpublished all plugins, except these:

and then privacy plugin.
I've unpublished all tabs except the 'contact' and 'menu'.
I get the SQL error every time.
Should I create a test site for you to experiment on?

If possible yes that'd be of great help in debugging what's going wrong.

Have reviewed your install. It's due to your HiddenFromUsers tab. It has the core params field on it, which is necessary to workaround a Joomla params store bug. It also has other core fields on it along with HiddenFromAll tab. Believe you're trying to hide these incorrectly. Simply toggle their edit display off as needed within CB > Field Management. The params field however needs to remain and be accessible to the user.

Please take a look at your test site where I've reconfigured both tabs. I've disabled their CB Privacy edit display usages and configured all their fields not to display in profile edit. I've moved the params field off of HiddenFromUsers. Everything appears to be working fine now.
