I had been struggling with this for a long time and had tried all sorts of things to fix this, but never got this to work. I recently upgraded to Kunena 5, and went back to see about this again and came across this post. This worked for me, too! Not sure why, and I am not sure how this might also affect my site, but I am very grateful for this. Thank you!
