CB Google Translate Won't Default to English was created by Xlym
I installed the CB Google Translate plugin.
In the backend, I selected "English" as the default language.
However, in the front end, it defaults to another foreign language.
It seems that the same foreign language appears regardless of the default language selected in the backend.
Any assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.

That's a screenshot of the General tab. Please provide what you've set under the Display tab.

Seams like it's just a bug with Google translate widget. That widget was discontinued by Google so it still working is a bit of luck. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about bugs with it as they're not fixing them anymore and it no longer has any official documentation. We are setting the default language via pageLanguage property, but it not working is out of our control.
The only other way to embed Google translate onto a site now is with their paid APIs. You likely don't need this plugin anymore as most browsers have translation services built right in (e.g. Chrome does for example) or via extensions.
