When I use CB Gallery from any smartphone (Android) and i need to choose a file as thumbnail for album, i do not have the pop-up "drag&drop to upload" but it open the device camera application ( without any way to browse in the phone's files or gallery). Same on demo site. Not only my phone or tablet...
Your device should have a menu to select "Photos & videos". That will let you select on-device media. On Android this is a "Choose an action" drawer that pops up at the bottom of the device.

Ok, a new build release of CB Gallery is now available. Several changes to the upload display have been made.
The primary file input no longer has capture support. There is now a second button to the right of it with a camera icon that will set capture support on the file input when clicked/tapped. This is only available on phone sized screens. For non-phone tap devices the primary input should offer camera capture if your device supports it in its actions drawer and is no longer forced. In addition to this touch based devices with no mouse device available will change their text from "Click or Drag & Drop to Upload" to "Tap to Upload" for it to make more sense. This should provide a better UX.
This new behavior can be controlled entirely with CSS as well. So for example if you want the camera icon always available it's possible to do that using CSS alone.

Thank you ! I checked, yes the 'tap to upload' makes sense. However, it is not working for the upload of thumbnail if the option "choose a thumbnail" is set. This is going directly to the camera ( except if the user is aware of the need to change the default application in its own device's parameters setting
