There was a legacy app blowing things up.

I did a complete restore w/Joomlapack and everything is alright now. I've identified the legacy app and I'm no longer using it.

I lost two days of work backing up to a last known good, but all is well now.

I'll wait for any app to be 1.5 compliant before installing in the future as I don't want legacy apps mucking stuff up.
