It is on a clean site that has never had a forum on it before - from looking in the different options to do with that specific tab the only place you can edit anything to do with the size of the signature box is where I have tried in the forumsignature size box and this makes no difference at all - I've tired putting figures from 200 all the way down to 30 and the box size remains totally unchanged.

Bug confirmed, added params to change Col and Rows for textarea of signature. Should be available for next mini release. For the time being you can easily control the size with CSS.

Halleluhah! Glad it wasn't me going stupid! Could you give me a clue as to what I'd need to do with CSS to temporarily fix the problem?

You'll clearly want to change XYZ to whatever values you want.
