Back-End only Tab

I needed this function as well -- and under some time contraints I used a hack to be quick and easy... I still am searching/awaiting for a possible plugin.

My hack is to show all tabs in the userEdit backend overriding the publish setting control in the backend. Then for the frontend, unpublish the tabs you would like hidden. Now you have tabs you can hide but still manage in the User Edit backend.

Not sure if that meets your criteria... but it's worked for me.
..given hacks are so discouraged - why don't you PM me if you want the details on the hack.

-hope this helps.:S

Hmm... that sounds like a good solution, behrt!

Can you give any hints as to which file and what function you modified to make this work?

I tried scanning through them, but it doesn't seem obvious.

Thanks!
Patrick

I tried to download the code, but get a 404 error. Did you move the file?

Thanks!

hey, i rehosted it. careful, i think there is a bug in one or two of the if statements. i have updated the live code i have but not the hosted code. it still works and will serve as an example for what you most likely need.

i need to pour over the latest docs and see if the new release of CB helps with this task any.

Did any of you manage to come up with a "install and go" solution like a plugin or something?
