[SOLVED] Profile does not exist or no longer

THanks Jamie,
I figured out what the problem was and corrected it, but I'm afraid it might be only temporary so perhaps you can enlighten me.

When I set up the site, the CB login module with link to profile was in the left column. I copied and pasted the link to the profile into a module (not a menu item) with links in the top bar of the site. For some reason, that link stopped working. The Fireboard forum we have has a link to the profile page that worked. I took that link and put it in my top bar.

I wish I saved the url that went bad so you could see. But suffice it to say, it used to work, it was a path that CB created and that I copied. What would cause it to change and stop working? Is the link that is there now a good one or will it break in the future?

Thanks,
Kathy

The only thing I can think of is that either:
1. You changed the menu items, which also changes the link.
2. You changed sections or categories, which can effect the link.
3. You're using SEF and used the SEF version of the link instead of the actual url (ie - yoursite.com/gallery instead of the yoursite.com/component/option,com_gallery/Itemid,22...).

There might be other reasons, but these are only guesses.

We all have those days. Actually, Beat just helped me debug something on my own site, and the solution was another one of those *slap my forehead* and "I should have thought of that" things.

Glad you resolved the issue. :cheer:
